Our Work
Research and Extension
At the SIP, our goal is to accelerate the growth of innovative silviculture by improving knowledge of these systems in British Columbia. We strive to develop creative, accessible and effective solutions to address critical knowledge gaps and extension needs by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange.
We enhance knowledge on innovative silviculture practices across British Columbia through dedicated research and extension efforts. Our goal is to create new knowledge, synthesize and collate existing knowledge, as well as translate and better mobilize knowledge through extension.
Our Current Focus
Our work is grounded in principles that support collaborative partnerships with communities and practitioners, interdisciplinary approaches, and diverse perspectives. By addressing critical knowledge gaps and access to knowledge barriers, the SIP can overcome many of the challenges limiting the application of innovative silviculture.
