Ntityix Resources Block 350 Broadcast Burn

Project Title: Ntityix Resources Block 350 Broadcast Burn

Recipient: Ntityix Resources LP

Region: Thompson Okanagan

Theme(s): “A burn a day can help keep wildfire away”

Awarded Amount:  $25,098

Project Period: 2025-2026

Description: Working alongside BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and UBC Okanagan, Ntityix Resources will conduct a prescribed burn on a recently harvested cutblock, using in situ weather stations to monitor conditions. The goal is to reintroduce fire to the landscape and to reduce fuel-loading. Postburn, Ntityix Resources will monitor the effects on planted trees and vegetation, including huckleberries that we will plant on both burned and control sites, and also complete statistical analysis of plantation performance across the burned and unburned stand. By working with BCWS over time, this project is a steppingstone to developing in-house expertise in writing and implementing burn plans.
