Aicha Hezit

Aicha is the SIP’s Knowledge Hub Technician. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Royal Roads University and a Diploma in Computer Systems Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Her work has focused on supporting research within BC’s forestry sector through field sampling, ecological data management, and supporting the development of resources that improve access to forest research data. Outside of the forestry sector, she has also supported wildlife and species at risk studies.

Aicha is interested in the intersection of forestry and conservation, where generating knowledge can support management practices that conserve the ecological values in BC’s forests. She is excited for the opportunity to improve accessibility to forestry research and sustainable management practices.

In her free time, she enjoys birdwatching, participating in citizen science, hiking and camping, and hanging by the beach.
